| A survey of public sector internal auditors in the UK reveals that there is still work to be done to improve both their status and the result they're achieving within the sector. Grant Thornton, in conjunction with CIPFA, has published the results of a survey in which close to 100 local government and NHS heads of internal audit were questioned on the challenges facing the public sector. Internal auditors within the police, fire service, local authorities and NHS bodies revealed how they are responding to current pressures and whether they have adequate resources and support.
