Predictive Analytics - a study
EY, in collaboration with IIA, is conducting a survey on predictive analytics and its impact on internal audit. The mission is to get an updated picture on how organizations are using predictive analytics to empower their internal audit function (IAF) including its interactions with internal controls and risk management functions.
The results will be shared with all IIA members, giving them access to the latest trends, developments and leading practices in the area of predictive analytics across the three lines of defense. But first, this data needs to be collected.
We are exploring how predictive analytics can improve risk identification, audit scoping, controls testing and management of risks for IAF primarily, and, to the best of IA’s knowledge, across the three lines of defense. In our study, we mainly aim to analyze real-life cases to document:
- How does predictive analytics help the company to achieve its objectives in general and for the Internal Audit function in particular?
- How is predictive analytics applied/experienced by the companies?
- What are the benefits/added values of predictive analytics for the Internal Audit function, both for annual planning purposes as in the actual audit engagement?
EY and IIA invite all interested experts to be part of this quest.
