PE obligation

Actively working Register Operational Auditors (ROs) and working Internal Auditors who are in possession of a CIA, CCSA, CFSA, CRMA, CGAP or QIAL certification are bound by Permanente Educatie (PE) and/or Continuing Professional Education (CPE). ROs must achieve a minimum of 40 PE points per year, including a minimum of 20 accredited points. CIAs must achieve a minimum of 40 CPE points per year. Auditors with a CCSA, CFSA, CRMA, CGAP or QIAL certification must achieve a minimum of 20 CPE points per year in order to be allowed to continue using the title.

PE registration ROs

The Permanent Education Register Operational Auditors Regulations came into effect on 1 July 2012 and were last updated on 1 July 2018. Actively operating ROs must submit their PE points via our website. The points from the previous year must be entered no later than 31 March of the following year.

Gaining (C)PE points

The IIA Academy offers dozens of events every year that can assist you in obtaining (C)PE points.

The IIA performs an annual check on the registration of sufficient PE points. A number of ROs are asked to specify their achieved PE points and to substantiate them with evidence. The results are published annually. ROs that do not meet the PE obligation are given the opportunity to correct this within a reasonable period of time. If this is not complied with, the Board can take disciplinary action, which can lead to, among other things, the withdrawal of the right to use the RO title.

CPE registration CIA, CCSA, CFSA, CRMA, CGAP, QIAL

The CPE registration for CIA, CCSA, CFSA, CRMA, CGAP and QIAL certifications takes place in the United States. Registration goes directly through IIA Global. IIA Netherlands cannot assist you in this regard. To register your CPE points or to download manuals, log in to the IIA Global CCMS.

If the CPE requirements are not met, this will lead to the withdrawal of the right to use the CIA, CCSA, CFSA, CRMA, CGAP or QIAL title.
