This intensive workshop explores key techniques in root cause analysis - a key way of getting to the heart of why issues keep repeating, so that audit can provide remediation plans that properly address the key reasons things go wrong. Root Cause Analysis is also a key way of demonstrating real insight and helping internal audit to add value.
You will learn key RCA techniques and see these applied to a series of case studies so you can see the pros and cons of each approach. We will then apply this in the context of governance, risk and compliance and recognise key drivers that contribute to many issues. This will also help us understand ways of reporting thematic issues to senior managers and the board.
We will also learn that root cause analysis will not actually slow down audit assignments but can be used a tool to speed up assignments by focusing on key root cause factors.
