Roundtable for Charity Organizations

IIA Netherlands, the professional association for internal auditors, aims to support charity organizations in the Netherlands through the Auditors for Charity initiatives. The purpose of this initiative is to help charity organizations improve the quality of their operations and processes, allowing them to continue focusing on the mission of their organization. At the same time, it provides internal auditors with a valuable learning experience through an impactful contribution.

While large corporations often have an Internal Audit Function (IAF), charity organizations (GDOs) rarely have one due to often prohibitive costs. Auditors for Charity addresses this gap.

Auditors for Charity offers various services, such as guidance on obtaining CBF certification, an Internal Audit Fundamentals training, and Risk Management workshops.

In addition to this, we are now planning to organize a roundtable meeting for and by internal auditors working in charity organizations. The objectives of this meeting are multifaceted:
 

1. To exchange experiences (good practices) in the field of internal auditing, both among peers and from the IIA as a professional association. The goal is to collaboratively select a relevant and important topic.
2. To discuss the key challenges faced by charity organizations and their internal auditors.
3. To explore whether there is interest in establishing a more continuous network that IIA - Auditors for Charity could support, and how this could be structured.
    

The intention is to organize this roundtable in the second quarter of 2025. Peter Hartog, Director of Professional Practice at the IIA and co-initiator of Auditors for Charity, will facilitate the meeting.
Participants will be able to earn PE-points. The roundtable will be in English, unless the participants are solely Dutch speakers.
