Solving key challenges of the smaller audit group
Does size really matter? Or are the challenges small internal audit departments face a function of other things? Alice Mariano, CIA, CPCU, CPA, director of internal audit for North Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Co. Inc., posed this question to attendees of The IIA’s 2019 International Conference, having been invited back after originally presenting on this topic to The IIA’s General Audit Management Conference™ (GAM™) last year. In her session titled Solving the Key Challenges of the Smaller Audit Group, she provided insight into ways small audit functions can meet challenges by making the most of their resources.
