Specially for English speaking participants: Pilot in 2026!
This year, we've scheduled an English-language sub-session for each time slot, especially for our English-speaking (international) members. The keynote speakers will speak in Dutch, but this year we have an app that will translate live what's being said on stage. You will receive information about this app and how to download it (use it) at a later stage.
Because the choice of English workshops is more limited, we offer our English-speaking members a special Congress price.

The theme of the 2026 IIA Congress is: Pride & Prejudice
“No matter how intelligent you think you are, never judge people too early. No matter how important you think you are, never look down.”
Loosely translated: Pride and Prejudice. The themes are universal: no matter how intelligent you think you are, never judge others too quickly. No matter how important you think you are, never look down on others. In addition, we once again have a potpourri (a wide variety) of topics. We are building on a rich and successful IIA Congress (over the years) full of current topics and are primarily looking ahead. Which themes will determine our agenda in the coming period? What will the future demand of our professional competence, our moral compass, and our added value as internal auditors? In this edition, we bring together carefully selected insights and translate them into the challenges of tomorrow. Think of the impact of artificial intelligence, changing laws and regulations, the integration of cybersecurity in audits, and the human side of supervision, soft controls, and risk management.

Chairs
This year's Pride & Pejudice conference will be chaired by Joep van Deudekom and Rob Urgert. As chairmen, they will ensure coherence throughout the two-day program. Rob Urgert and Joep van Deudekom are unparalleled in their ability to present a compelling, substantive story with plenty of humor. While their presentation is relevant, it also generates plenty of laughter. And participation, as all their programs are interactive.
