Traditionally, this event takes place the day before the IIA Conference at a special location near the conference venue. This event is organized by the IIA in collaboration with Deloitte. The focus is on sharing knowledge and insights with fellow Chief Audit Executives in an interactive and intensive manner. The Pre Conference will be held in English.

Responsible AI for the internal auditor

AI has a significant impact on internal auditing. Responsible AI in internal auditing involves both auditing the organization's use of AI (Assurance) and using AI responsibly within the audit function (Efficiency). Our aim is to share peer perspectives on AI risk and assurance priorities and to identify pragmatic approaches CAEs can adopt quickly.

Keynote speaker: Barry Liddy

Barry is the Partner leading AI Assurance at Deloitte Netherlands, where he guides organisations in responsible AI adoption. A recognised expert on the EU AI Act, he helps clients establish robust governance frameworks. At the forefront of Generative and Agentic AI, he embeds 'auditability by design' to mitigate risk and enable innovation. Barry also leads complex regulatory audits under the DSA and DMA, providing independent assurance over AI systems.
