Based upon a ‘best practices session’ among the large Internal Audit Departments in The Netherlands, the Professional Practices Committee of IIA Netherlands (CPP) further analysed the methodology topic: ‘audit coverage and aggregated assurance given the audit universe of the organization’. 
Norbert Kouwenberg, chair of CPP,  presented the results, elaborating in-depth on the diverse practices in the Netherlands, in a webinar facilitated by Wolters Kluwer. 
This webinar will outline the most relevant aspects to take into account when preparing and making choices about the universe and coverage. Shaping the audit universe determines the outcome on achieving coverage in multi-year cycles. Aspects as change, flexibility, reporting requirements and ex-post coverage, all set requirements for the universe’s structure.
